Thesis Profs, Sorry for delays, I’ve had terrible time with file sizes and emailing. The presentation on CAD is broken into 4 files…I hope there are no issues, I’ve tested on my home computer and everything runs fine. Enjoy DQ 1. Week 9 CAD presentation (ppt) This is a 20 page presentation defining cad, showing examples and types, as well as applications for its use. I have also explored some of the more recent manifestations of it, ie fea, and rapid prototyping. Note that there are many text notes in the ‘note’ section- best to review prior to give you some of the details for the images. Also, I have imbedded several movies to illustrate process etc. They are only viewable during ‘presentation mode’ when view the presentation. I have added a ‘click here’ box to show when they are available. 2. Rapid Prototype comparison chart (pdf) This is a list of the most common RP technologies organized to compare and contrast characteristics such as sizes, finish quality, cost, materials etc. 3. Leva Pump drafting 2D (pdf) This is typical 2D drafting showing the standard conventions- ortho views, BOM, exploded view, assemblies, part drawings, sections, and details. I chose this as it is simple and easy to understand…ie pretty basic drawings. 4. Leval pump 3D data (e-file) This file goes hand in hand with the 2D drafting, but allows the viewer to rotate, section, measure, hide, zoom without being able to alter.…all as an executable file (no need for special software). Typically our suppliers in China find it very useful, and we would send as an aid for procuring quotes. Native data would be sent for tooling once an agreement was arranged. Hope that helps, and you find the presentation ok. Best David
