Attributes Characteristics can be displayed in more detail through attributes. Example: You can assign Country and Region to the Sold-to party characteristic. Display vs. Navigation? Display attributes can be shown in the report as a drilldown. Navigation is not possible. Navigational attributes enable you to view current data with characteristic values from the past or view past data with current characteristic values. Slight loss in query performance may occur. Hierarchical Display in Reports Display the characteristics included in the query definition as a hierarchy.
Select external hierarchy as a display hierarchy for a characteristic in the query definition.

Properties of the Display Hierarchy Expand to Level To determine the hierarchy level to which the hierarchy is expanded in the report. In the “U” column, put a check in the checkbox and enter the required value. Position of Lower Level Nodes Put a check mark in the “U” column and choose whether the subordinate nodes are positioned above (Up) or below (Down) a superior node. Values of Posted Nodes Put a check mark in the “U” column and choose whether you want to Display or Suppress the values of posted nodes. Nodes with Only One Lower-Level Node Put a check in the checkbox and choose whether you want to Display or Suppress nodes with only one lower level node. Slide 5
