Thematic Study of Bhagavad Gita by HG Paramesvara Prabhuji (based on the teachings of HDG A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada and his disciples)

Sambanda Slokas

Nature of Soul: No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul. For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He is eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain. The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind. This individual soul is unbreakable and insoluble, and can neither burned nor dried. He is everlasting, present everywhere, unchangeable, immovable and eternally the same.

Motivation: Bhagavad Gita was spoken in the Battlefield just before the battle between Pāndavas and Kauravas taken place. It was not spoken to Vedantists who were quiet & spending time alone. It was spoken to Arjuna, a military man, a great hero in the Kuru-Kṣetra battle. Every moment of his time at the battle was precious. Arjuna understood this science before the battle started & won the battle. It is more appropriate at this age where there are more hurdles in our day to day life including super natural, terrorism and other onslaughts. Each one of us need to practice the teachings given in this great science and implement the concepts illustrated in our day to day life to overcome the difficulties we face in our daily life. 7.13

When Bhagavad Gita was spoken There are four Yugs – Kali Yug (span – 432000 Years); Dvāpara Yug (864000 Years); Tretā Yug(1296000 Years); Satya Yug(1728000 years) – 4 Yugs constitute 1 Divya Yug. Manu lives 71 such Divya Yugs. BG was spoken to Manu roughly 12,04,00,000 years before. When the disciplic succession was broken, Kṛṣṇa spoke this science again to Arjuna 5000 years before. Above statement is confirmed by Kṛṣṇa Himself in the Bhagavad Gita Chapter 4 – Verse 1. Conclusion is that Bhagavad Gita is eternal science. It is instruction manual for the universe.
