The Texas Common Course Numbering System will assist in determining some equivalent courses at participating Texas community/junior colleges. Work from regionally accredited institutions and foreign institutions will be evaluated for equivalent credit on a course by course basis provided a grade of “C” or higher is recorded on an official transcript. “A” Level results may be considered for possible transfer credit at the discretion of Baylor’s academic departments. Credit for educational experience in the armed services is evaluated based on recommendations from the American Council on Education. No grades earned on transfer work will become part of the Baylor grade point average. IV. By Previous Degree from Another College or University Applicants who have completed a degree at another college or university may attend Baylor as a post-baccalaureate student. Such applicants may seek a second degree only if it is a different degree with a different major from the first degree and major. V. By Readmission Students who enrolled provisionally but did not meet the minimum grade point average at the completion of the freshman year must apply for readmission upon completing at least 24 semester hours at another college or university and achieving a cumulative 2.5 GPA on that work. While up to 24 semester hours can be transferred back to Baylor if the work is evaluated as equivalent credit, the transfer of any hours over that may be limited by individual Baylor colleges/schools. The student should seek further information from the school or college in these circumstances. Former students who have not attended Baylor since 1986 need to apply for readmission. VI. By Individual Approval Applicants who wish to pursue a degree but who do not qualify for admission may be offered admission at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. Such admission may require special requirements. In addition, applicants who possess special or unique talents or abilities in music, the visual or performing arts, athletics, or other extenuating circumstances who wish to pursue a degree but who do not qualify for admission may be offered admission at the discretion of the Admissions Committee upon the request of the dean, department chair, or athletic coach. Such admission may require attendance in summer school and/or entrance with special requirements.

Admission as a Non-degree Seeking Student Applicants who do not intend to seek a Baylor degree may be admitted as special students. If a non-degree student decides to pursue a Baylor degree, the student must apply for admission and provide appropriate documents in order to be reviewed for possible admission as a degree-seeking student (see the section titled Admission as a Degree-seeking Student). Methods of Admission

In addition to special programs established by the University for specific educational experiences, applicants may be admitted as non-degree seeking students in one of the following ways: I. By Advanced Studies Superior high school students may apply to attend either one or both summer sessions if they meet the following requirements: • Completion of the junior year in high school with appropriate progress toward required courses. • Rank within the top one-tenth of the high school class and score at least 1300 on the SAT or at least 30 on the ACT. • Recommendation of high school principal and counselor. Area high school students who meet the requirements for Advanced Studies may enroll for one or two courses during their final year of high school. Students who enroll in 9 hours and make a “B” in each course may be considered for Early Admission (see the Admission as a Degree-seeking Student section). II. By Pursuing a Degree at Another College or University Students who are pursuing a degree at another school and are in good standing at that school according to the Registrar may attend Baylor as a transient student. III. By Individual Approval Applicants who do not wish to pursue a degree may be offered admission as a special student at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.

courses if you would like to have your post-secondary work considered for possible transfer credits. • An official transcript bears an original stamp, seal, or signature and includes courses studied and marks obtained. • An official transcript of “A” Level results and syllabi of each course must be submitted for consideration of possible transfer credit at the discretion of Baylor’s academic departments. • If your native language is not English, document your English proficiency in one of the following ways: > an official transcript showing the completion of one year of full-time study at a school located in the United States, or > an official statement of the completion of one year of full-time study at a school where English is the official language of instruction, or > an official SAT critical reading score of 470 or ACT English score of 20, or > an official TOEFL score of 540 on the paper-based test, a 207 on the computer-based test, or a 76 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT); the TOEFL code for Baylor is 6032. > an official IELTS score of 6.0

Freshman Applicants for Summer and Fall* 2010 ADMISSION DEADLINES

November 1, 2009 February 1, 2010 Completed applications received by November 1 will be reviewed for the first round of admission notifications. The advantages of first-round acceptance to the University include priority in securing your space in the incoming class through early deposit, which also serves as your housing application and allows you to submit your housing preferences and obtain your Baylor ID to connect to the University in other areas. Any admission applications received after February 1 will be considered on a space-available basis. • Submit an official transcript as of the end of the junior year. The transcript must include either actual class rank, an estimate of rank, or a statement from school officials that the school does not rank students (in which case a grade point average must be provided.) A class rank may enhance scholarship consideration. A home school transcript should include a list of all completed courses, grades received for each course, grade point average, and other information pertinent to the educational background. • Submit the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) directly from the testing center; the ACT code is 4062 and the SAT code is 6032. The highest combined ACT or the highest combined SAT (highest Critical Reading plus highest Math) will be considered for admission. • It is the responsibility of applicants to check their status to ensure that all deadlines are met. You may check your status online at www.baylor.edu/admissions/status. • Merit scholarship award decisions will be made at the time of admission subject to available funding. February 1 is the deadline for new ACT/SAT scores to be received at Baylor for possible scholarship upgrades. • After acceptance, pay a $300 enrollment and housing deposit and submit it with the application for housing. (A housing exemption can be requested in writing for the following reasons: being age 21 or older, being married and/or having children, living with parents/guardians residing in McLennan County.) Transfer Summer and Fall Applicants • Baylor University reviews transfer applicants on a rolling admissions schedule. Students should plan to transfer to Baylor no later than their sophomore year to fulfill the 60-hour residency requirement for a bachelor’s degree at Baylor. Apply as early as possible in the last semester before transferring. Transfers are automatically SPRING APPLICANTS

Upon Receipt of Orientation Packet Information, Freshmen and Transfers • Schedule an orientation and registration appointment as soon as you have paid the deposit.

Baylor’s Title IV code is 003545. Financial aid awards are announced for accepted students who have filed the FAFSA and who have complete financial aid files by March 1. February 1, Post-Baccalaureate, Readmission, and Non-degree Seeking Rolling Admission Reviews Begin • Submit an application and documentation of academic work and test scores as appropriate. Upon Receipt of Orientation Packet Information, Freshmen and Transfers • Schedule an orientation and registration appointment as soon as you have paid the deposit. May 1, Freshmen and Transfers • Deadline to pay the deposit requested in your letter of acceptance. (Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing postmarked May 1.) May 15, Freshmen and Transfers • Freshmen should order an official final high school transcript showing graduation date to be mailed to Baylor. • Freshmen and transfers who have completed college work should order an official college transcript from each college attended to be mailed to Baylor before Orientation. The college work needs to be evaluated for possible transfer credits before registering for classes. July 1, All Applicants • Submit the health form for review and approval. December 15, Freshmen and Transfers • Pay the deposit requested in your letter of acceptance. (Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing postmarked December 15.) • Freshmen graduating in December should order an official high school transcript showing graduation date to be mailed to Baylor. • Freshmen and transfers who have completed college work should have an official college transcript from each college attended sent to Baylor before Orientation. • Return the application form at least 4 months prior to the expected term of entry in order to allow ample time for the issuing of the I-20.
