INTRODUCTION 

Bengal holds a variety of culture including social culture, political culture, festival culture, religious culture etc. But Band culture and Bandh culture have a special significance that always celebrated in Bengal.

WHAT IS BAND CULTURE        

A band is any (modern) musical band that performs solely or mainly in the regional language and which uses Western principles of music. Bengali band also follows the same. Bengal’s people like this band music and accept it as a culture for amusement,

ORIGIN 

OF

BENGALI BAND CULTURE

Moheener Ghoraguli was the first Bengali band formed by a group of Kolkata Musicians led by Gautam Chattopadhyay towards the end of 1974.

Famous Bangla Bands  Fossils. 

 Bhoomi. 

 Cactus.   Lakkhichhara. 

How Band Culture Rocks Bengal Fossils :-

      

Fossils are the only bangla bandgroup from Kolkata who really use hardcore guitar, metals etc and try to sing HARD ROCK in Bengali language.

 

  





Famous Song :Aro Ekbar , Ekla Ghar , Nemesis , Nishkramon , Kano Korle Erokom etc.

Achievement :2002:-A contract was landed with Asha Audio. 2004:-The band's second album entitled Fossils 2 was released in 2004. 2006:-The third studio album entitled Mission F was released in 2006. 2008:-The end of 2008 Fossils was released his 5th album Fossils3 on the 19th of September, 2009.

 Bhoomi       

:Bhoomi was formed in 1999, with the aim of reviving the folk music of Bengal and making it popular amongst all sections of the society by providing it an urban touch.



Famous Song :-

Baranday Roddur, Emon Manob Jonom, Kancha Haarite, Bhangor Mohiser Gaan. 

 

   

Achievement :2000:-Bhoomi released their first album Bhoomi Jatra Shuru. 2001:-Bhoomi released their second album udaan. 2002:-Album Isspecial was released. 2003:-Album Paal Chhutechhe was released. 2004:-This year they released two album Lokogiti Local and Dekhtey Dekhte. 2005:- Album Bojai Kora Ganer Gari was released. 2008:- Album Lokegeetir Deshe was released.

Cactus :Cactus was formed in 1992, with the aim of introducing the rock music in Bengal in order to attract youth in Bengali rock song who was unable to identify with the contemporary music of the time and diverted towards the western rock song. 

Shudhu Tumi Ele Na, Amra Bhishon Eka, Halogen, Brishti etc.

Achievement : 1999:-Cactus released his first album cactus-selftitled 

under Saregama India Limited. 2002:-They released their album Neel Nirjone under Sunnoy Media Pvt Ltd. 

2004:-Album Rajar Raja was released under Asha Audio Company.





2008:-

Album Tuccho was released under Asha Audio Company.

Lakkhichara :- Lakkhichara was formed in 1999.But the emergence of Lakkhichara was different than other bands. A group of school kids found music as their only form of expression and sang their first song “Porashonay Jolanjoli …”.But Later they grew up with their age and emerged in the professional circuit as Lakkhichhara. 

 

Megh Mallar, Jibon Chaichhe Aro Besi, Eka, Bises Bises Angso Birotir Por etc.

Achievement :2001:-They released their first commercial album Megh Mallar under Asha Audio Company.



 

2003:-Album Jibon Chaichhe Aro Besi was released under Asha Audio Company. 2005:-Album Aka was released. 2009:-Album Bises Bises Angso Birotir Por was released.

WHAT IS BANDH 



CULTURE

Bandh culture can define as a device resorted to by political parties, organizations and unions to focus attention of people on some issues by disrupting the normal life like closing down shops, banks etc.

ORIGIN OF BENGALI BANDH CULTURE The word 'bandh' has its origin from a Hindi word which means 'closed' and Bengal inherits the features of this which They always try to implement as a culture in a ironic way. 



MAIN PURPOSE OF

BANDH

Various political parties, innumerable trade unions and different student associations, and women groups would summon bandh in order to push up their charter of demands to the Union Government and the State Governments etc. 

HOW BENGAL CELEBRATE BANDH CULTURE Bengal becomes the most bandh takes place state in india. In Bengal different political parties, student union, trade union generally summon bandh in order to achieve their demand to the union and the state government by disrupting the normal life by imposing the people not to go out of home during bandh otherwise they will get life threat. Being that most of the people would not go out of the home and do some amusement sitting at home i.e. they celebrated that day as a holiday. 
