Automated Temperature Regulation Desciption:

The aim of our project is to automate the temperature regulation of an Air Conditioner by estimating the Room Temperature based on the number of persons present in the room and the Ambient Temperature. The approach for the automation starts by determining the ambient temperature and by calculating the number of persons present. The ambient temperature is used to determine the base temperature to which the Air Conditioner must be set to initially. The number of persons present determines the change in temperature. If a situation where the number of people increases arises then the Air Conditioner temperature is decreased by passing an appropriate signal from the infrared transmitter to the Air Conditioner receiver. ATR has an important quality of power optimization. This is done by switching on the A/C only after a person entering the room. This automation is also applied for switching off the A/C when the number of persons in the room is zero. The room temperature is controlled dynamically by counting the number of persons entering/leaving the room. This is done at the entrance of the room in spite of sensing an increase/decrease in the temperature of the room due to accumulation/dispersal of persons, which is time taking. The resources used in this project are 8051microcontroller, Infrared transmitter and receiver. The Ambient Temperature is calculated by using Thermistors and Analog to Digital Converter, which is present in the 8051microcontroller. The persons are detected by the Infrared transmitter and receiver set and the number is calculated by the Counters present in the 8051 microcontroller. The Air Conditioner temperature regulation is done by the Infrared transmitter, which communicates with the Infrared receiver of the Air Conditioner. Requirements: Software Requirements:
