What a joy it was to welcome the AING FAMILY - DEREK, TRACY, MELANIE and COURTNEY - to First Baptist Church! God continues to lead outstanding folks to our family of faith. I look forward to serving along side the Aing family in advancing God's love to our community. I want to offer a thank you to all our volunteer firemen of the Hamilton Fire Department. A terrible fire raged just a block over from our church. The town is sorry to lose the Texan Theater, but thankful that the entire block was not taken out by such a dangerous fire. Our own FBC Deacon, Cody Catoe, who is the Assistant Fire Chief was one of the heroes as he and others contained a fire that could have been tons worse than what it ended up. It is a nice assurance to know these volunteers are always ready to keep us safe and help our city and families in times of need. Advent is upon us and our theme is "CARRY YOUR CANDLE". I have always believed that God's action for us in the act of incarnation should move us to action for others. The Light of World came to us and brought salvation - we should carry our candles to a lost and hurting world. I want us to think about how Christmas is not only a time for us to celebrate God's great gift to us in Jesus Christ, but also to follow His lead and give great gifts to others. We carry the Candles of HOPE, PEACE, JOY and LOVE through acts of kindness, justice, and expressing the story of Christmas to those we come in contact with. May we be thankful this season and may the Holy Spirit remind us to share the gift we've been given.

LOOK OUT!... Here They Come!

As most of you know, this is my first Christmas season away from home and away from my home church, but I am excited to be celebrating it with FBC Hamilton. You have welcomed me into your church family and I truly know that God has some wonderful plans in store for the coming season and New Year. Once again I implore you to spread the news about the December 13th Christmas Program, which will take place at 6:30 P.M. in the Sanctuary. It will be a wonderful time of worship, music, and celebration as a church family. The members of the Sanctuary Choir, the Handbell ensemble, and the children’s choirs have been working diligently and have crafted a wonderful program. It will surely be a highlight of the Christmas season. Jacob Sensenig

As the holidays quickly approach, our schedules become increasingly filled with a number of activities with our families, church, and friends. Like everyone else, my schedule is packed full of exciting events that I get to share with my family, friends, and church. However, there is another event in my schedule this year that makes me sad, and that is my decision to leave FBC Hamilton. Over the past year and a half, it has been a privilege to serve alongside of you as we reach the students of our community. We have accomplished many great things together and I know that God will continue to bless this church with many more great events to come. This time of transition also includes Tiffany and I moving to Nashville, TN. We will both continue our graduate school endeavors at Vanderbilt University. I will be finishing my M.Div. at Vanderbilt School of Divinity. I am saddened to leave behind all the wonderful friends and people that I have met during my time here at FBC. I will be in constant prayer for everyone at this church, our students, and our community. As soon as we figure out where we will be living in Nashville, I will give out our new address so we can stay in contact. I will be serving on staff here until December 16th, 2009. The night of the 16th, we will have a huge party for our students as a final gift that I would like to give them. In the meantime...we have some awesome activities planned for our students listed below. DEC 6th – Main St. Bethlehem (Burnet, TX) Meet at the church by 3pm and return by 9:45pm Dinner and transportation provided for students
