Dear Parents, Third quarter ended on March 26th. Report cards should be going home on April 8th. When your child’s report card comes home, please sign the envelope and return. The information inside the envelope is yours to keep. I am so pleased with the growth I have seen these nine weeks. Spring break is just around the corner. I think I can speak for everyone in saying we are all very excited and need a break. Spring photos and class photo is scheduled for the day we return from our break.

I can’t believe we are in the fourth nine weeks. This school year has flown by. In looking at the curriculum, we still have so much to cover. We completed on unit on weather in science. Our next unit is a favorite among students. It is all about animals. In math, we will continue to work with tens frames, partners and begin word problems. In reading, we will be working more with non-fiction and also poetry. In social studies we just completed our unit on “We Are Alike We Are Different”. The students did a fantastic job on their digital slides telling about themselves. We had a lot of fun with this project! Our next unit is on maps and globes. Please don’t forget the Spring Fling on Saturday, April 27st from2:00-4:00 pm. It is a lot of fun and the students have a great time. A big thank you to everyone who donated to our grade level basket, “Cool Pool / Day at the Beach”. We have enough stuff to probably have more than one basket. As the weather gets warmer, please be mindful of the Wake Co. dress code. Shorts need to finger- tip length and straps on tops need to be adult three finger lengths wide. Many students are already wearing sandals. Wearing these are fine, however, I would recommend that students bring tennis shoes for outside play. Mrs. J. Booker, NBCT
