Magnitude of a problem
The data table I chose is the “Selected Family Planning and Medical Service used by women, 15-44 Years of age: 2002”. There are a few characteristics such as age, marital status, and race. Then there was the number in thousands, then the percentage use of family planning services and medical services. The data is based on the national survey of family growth. The table I chose for disparities is table 94. I chose this table because it shows a huge difference between the percentages of women who use at least one family planning service depending on their age. The data shows that 63.3% of women between the ages of 20-24 all used at least one family planning service and 19.5% of women between the ages 40-44 years old used at least one family planning service.

Scope of the Problem
This information came from the number of abortions in the year 1990, 2000, and 2004. It also lists the different characteristics of women like their age, race, marital status, number of prior live births, number of prior live induced abortions, and weeks of gestation. What I understood from this data was that the number of total abortions in the year 1990, 2000, and 2004 has changed. It wasn’t just a change, it was a positive change. In 1990 the total number of abortions occurred were 1,609,000 and in the year 2000 1,313,000 abortions occurred and in the year 2004 1,222,000 abortions occurred. As the years come, the number of abortions has decreased. This information came from the number of abortions from surveys conducted by source: characteristics.

Change in the Problem
The table I chose to discuss and identify its change is table 400. Table 400 is “voting-age population, percent reporting registered and voted: 1994-2006”. My source was the covers civilian non institutional population. The data lists the characteristics of the individual, their age, sex, race, region, school years completed, and employment. It also measures the “voting-age population, the percent reporting they registered, and the percent reporting they voted. What I’ve interpreted from this data is more people, regardless of their age, are starting to vote more and are becoming more involved as far as with politics go. In 1994, 10.3% of citizens between the ages of 18-20 voted compared to 11.6% of citizens between the ages of 18-20 in 2006. However on the other hand in 1994, 50.9% of 45-64 year olds and miraculously 75% of the same group of people voted in 2006.

Summary and Conclusion
I have just distinguished between four different problems using four different graphs. The different problems that were focused on were the magnitude of a problem, the scope of a problem, the changes in a problem, and the disparities in a problem. I described those problems using a table on voting, a table on the total number of abortions, a table on the selected family planning and medical service use by women, and a data table on families that are below poverty levels by age, region, type of family, and marital status. Each graph was explained and something different was pointed out and explained (the magnitude of the problem, the scope of the problem, changes in the problem, and the disparities in a problem). In conclusion, each graph shows and expresses a different problem. Each graph is also different too. However it all depends on the information I compared, how I compared it, and what I said about it.
