DESIGN , ANALYSIS OF LEAF SPRING AND COMPARISON BETWEEN DIFFERENT MATERIALS USING ANSYS 19.2
ABSTRACT The Automobile Industry has shown keen interest for replaceme nt of steel leaf spring with alluminium alloy and silicon carbide leaf spring, since the alloy material has high strength to weight ratio, good corrosion r esistance and structural properties. The present study searches the new material for leaf spring. In present study the material selected was allumin ium alloy( ex:alloy 5456) and silicon carbide is used against conventional st eel. A spring with constant width and thickness was designed using solid w orks ,The numerical analysis is carried via finite element analysis using ANS YS software. Stresses, deflection and strain energy results for both silicon c arbide
and aluminium alloy leaf spring are compared
