There are times when I wonder (I really do) how the Holy Spirit knows where we're going to be as a church when he directs me in sermon preparation. Most of you know that I work to build a preaching schedule/program often months in advance. I often wonder why a certain theme emerges as I'm planning and today is one of those times when I realize that, indeed, God knows what we're going to be facing long before we get there. Today we continue the series of four messages based on Simple Church. Please hear me...this is not a book report. God has simply used that book to expand upon His Word and I trust that today we can find a way to use our emotions to connect with Him. Folks, these are tough days. There's no getting around that fact. But I have to continue to ask myself "Is God still on the throne?", "Is God still in control?", "Is DFC His church or do I think it's mine?" Let me remind you of a passage of scripture that I read last Sunday, and as I do, let me acknowledge that I doubt if anyone can remember anything about last Sunday's sermon. HOWEVER, look at these words: "So we FIX our eyes NOT on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is TEMPORARY, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Cor. 4:18. You didn't remember, did you? You know what that verse says to me? It says that we've been sitting around here naval gazing long enough. We've focused all our attention on that which we can see and we've tried to fix it. It's time to get our spiritual eyes back in focus and begin looking at that which is unseen and seeking the Presence of the Holy Spirit and the favor of God. Folks, if that requires repentance, then let's make sure we do it. In the Old Testament a battle was lost and thousands died because there was sin in the camp. How about you and me? Anticipating,

Pastor Tim “My House Will Be Called A House Of Prayer” Isaiah 56:7 Join us in praying together this week… We ask, O Lord, that you will help keep our eyes on you. "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits...“ Psalm 103:1-2
