A simple solution was needed that was better for a team to use than excel and

Bright Green Projects allows everyone to access project information in a workshop, with a client, or even at an airport. Some Project Managers work from home or spend a few days a week in different offices. Remote workers and globally distributed teams are becoming more common.

“The agile approach fits perfectly with our development practices and gives all members instant visibility into what’s outstanding, what’s high priority, and what functionality we’re releasing in each iteration. BGP's hosted model suits our distributed team as there is no need for local installations or upgrades - we were up and running in less than an hour.” -uLurn
• Agile is a structured approach to Project Management that breaks projects into a succession of small iterations or sprints. • Each iteration or sprint delivers a real, working and tested piece of software to the customer every 2-6 weeks for feedback and review. • Changes are then prioritized against existing requirements and the team begins work on the next iteration. • A Release is made up of multiple iterations.

Requirements Management Like the plans of a house, requirements are a a core component of any implementation. It is much easier, cheaper to change a requirement in the early stages of a project, rather than after it has been built! BGP allows users to quickly and easily capture and manage requirements. Important documents such as wireframes, process flows or even videos can be attached to each requirement and accessed by the whole team. Agile methodologies encourage the team to embrace change, and as a result, Bright Green Projects has a detailed audit trail to track changing requirements.

Virtual Task Board Having a task wall with post-it notes is a great way for small, co-located teams to collaborate and get motivated. It’s an information radiator – encouraging team members to stand around the board and interact. But most teams outgrow a physical task wall as requirements and issues expand. Many project teams now work globally and have few opportunities to be together. Bright Green Projects solves these problems with a virtual task wall that can be accessed around the world and used on a large monitor during meetings.

Inspired by commenting on a photo in facebook, Bright Green encourages your team and customers to comment on requirements or issues. All conversations about a specific requirement are central and available for all to see. It won’t get lost in your emails.

Iteration Management
Estimates can be captured against requirements and issues. If the expert is offsite, BGP’s “request estimate” workflow will send an email to the expert and prompt them to update the system with an estimate.
Based on estimates, you can easily plan iterations in Bright Green. It’s a simple process of dragging and dropping r e q u i r e m e n t s a n d i s s u e s f r o m yo u r prioritized backlog into each iteration. Velocity is the average amount of work you have completed in previous iterations. Bright Green keeps track of this data and you need to take this into consideration when planning iterations.
Dependencies Projects are complex. Changing one requirement can often impact others. Bright Green Projects allows you to define dependencies or relationships between different requirements, issues or risks.

“I like the electronic card wall (kanban) which is great for our virtual team – it’s not often we can all meet face to face so the wall shows everyone what’s happening. The requirements system has made it much easier, everything is in the one place and so easily searchable….we don’t lose important information any more. Our team members like the comment feature and use it a lot…it’s a way of ensuring good collaboration and makes everyone feel that others are interested in their contribution.” -Team Management Systems http://brightgreenprojects.com |
