Area and circumference of a circle Green pg 364
This lesson is about the area and perimeter of a circle. I was recently introduced to problems on how to solve the area and perimeter of given circles. I didn’t understand how to calculate those two until I recently learned how to. The area of a circle is radius squared times pi. But my first question was “pi? What does food have to do with math?” but I soon figured out that there were two types of “pie”: the food and the mathematical one. I realized that pi=3.14. Circumference is only another word for perimeter, except circumference is only used when talking about circles. This lesson was very helpful to me, because without it, I wouldn’t get through a good year. This was also a step before I learned the area and volume of a cylinder.
