Muốn cho Windows XP Professional có bản quyền bạn làm như sau: Vào Start->Run->gõ vào “regedit” MyComputer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents Hoặc MyComputer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT \WPAEvents Nhấn chuột phải vào OOBETimer chọn->Modify, thay đổi 1 khóa bất kì, ví dụ 71 thành 72 chẳng hạn. Sau đó vào Start-> Run->gõ vào:” %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a” Có 1 cửa sổ Active Windows hiện ra, chọn: I want to telephone a customer service representative to active Windows., nhấn “Change Product Key” rồi nhập CDKey này vào:” DHXQ2-WRGCD-WGYJY-HHYDH-KKX9B”, nhấn “Update”. Chúng ta sẽ đượcc đưa về cửa sổ Active Windows, nhấn tiếp “Remind me later”. Xong thì khởi động lại Windows, rồi vào Start->Run->gõ vào:” %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a” Cửa sổ “Activate Windows” sẽ hiện ra và báo cho ta biết Windows đã activated. ^^

Bây giờ bạn thoải mái mùh update, hãy vào trang www.microsoft.com/genuine để xác nhận bản quyền dùng cho mình. Bạn sẽ thấy nó cám ơn vì đã dùng phần mềm có bản quyền, bạn nên download Windows Installer 3.1 về cài trước rồi tiếp theo cài các phần mềm khác sau hoặc nhấn cho nó tự động update nó cũng sẽ tự tải về đầy đủ hết.
