Qwizdom Warranty, Return & Exchange Policy Thank you for ordering from Qwizdom! We strive to offer first quality products, and want you to be

completely satisfied with your purchase. Qwizdom products are guaranteed to be free from defects and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. This warranty is not valid if product has been damaged from misuse or abuse by the end-user. Qwizdom representatives and dealers who have specific territories have the option of offering a limited warranty of three (3) years. Please check with your local representative for this information. Please inspect your Qwizdom order carefully to make sure it is complete. If you believe you are missing any portion of the order, please contact the Qwizdom representative who you placed the order with, or call our customer service department at (253) 845-7738 within 30 days from receipt of the order. Any damaged or defective products will be replaced with the same product. Please contact our tech support staff at (253) 770-1285 if you need assistance in setting up your system.

Screws and Screwdriver

If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase and product is not defective, simply obtain an RMA number from your representative and return it within 30 days of the invoice date. Please note that there is a 10% restocking fee for all returned products that must be paid prior to receiving an RMA number. A credit memo will be issued once the product is returned in good, resalable condition.

In order to return products, you must:

• Please contact the Qwizdom representative who you placed the order with, or call our service department at (253) 845-7738 to obtain an RMA number. Return authorizations are valid 30 days from the date of issue. • Please repack item(s) with the original packing boxes and the RMA number clearly marked on the outer carton. Products returned with no RMA number will be refused. • For your benefit, please return via UPS, Federal Express, or insured mail so you can track the package, and insure the product. If any package is lost in transit on its return, you will still be responsible for the complete costs of the product.

Software Site License Upon the purchase of 25 or more sets of Qwizdom RF remotes, Qwizdom Interact (Windows or Mac), Qwizdom Actionpoint, and Qwizdom Mactionpoint software is provided as a site(school) license. Instructors may also install Qwizdom Interact (Windows or Mac), Qwizdom Actionpoint, or Qwizdom Mactionpoint on their home computers to work on school activities. II INSTALLING QWIZDOM SOFTWARE • Before installing, please check System Requirements (see below). • Close all Microsoft® Office and/or Qwizdom programs. • Place the disk into the CD-ROM drive. • Follow the Installation Wizard. • You may need to restart the computer when finished. Note: If the CD does not run automatically,

• Go to the CD-ROM drive. • Double-click the Setup.exe file.

The Qwizdom Connect icon will appear on the desktop after installation. OR For Actionpoint Suite, the Actionpoint, Answer Key, and Question Toolbar icons will appear on the desktop after installation.

III ONLINE REGISTRATION This section only applies to Qwizdom Connect software users. If you are using Actionpoint Suite, you may skip to the next section. Registration must be completed in order to use any of Qwizdom Connect’s online features.

Software Downloaded via Email: In order to successfully download Qwizdom Connect, you will need to add www.qwizdom.com to your Trusted Sites List and add @qwizdom.com to your Safe Senders List.

• First, add Qwizdom to your Trusted Sites List. Open Internet Explorer®. Go to the Tools menu and select Internet

Options. This will bring up the Internet Options window. Click on the Security tab and select Trusted Sites. Click on Sites, type www.qwizdom.com into the Add this website to the zone field, and click on Add. Close the Internet Options window.

• Second, for Microsoft Outlook® users add @qwizdom.com to your Safe Senders List. Open Microsoft Outlook. Go to the Tools menu and select Options. Under the Preferences tab, click on Junk E-mail and select the Safe Senders tab. Click on Add and type in @qwizdom.com. Click OK and exit the Options window.

• If using an Email provider other than Microsoft Outlook, check to see if there is a safe senders list and add @qwizdom.com. If there is not a Safe Senders List, check your Junk or Spam folder for emails sent by Qwizdom.

• Upon purchasing Qwizdom Connect, you will receive an email with an access code and a URL web link. Either click on the link in the email; or copy and paste the link into a web browser.

• Fill out the required fields in the Online Registration form and click on Submit. • You will receive another email with a link to download the software. This link contains your username, password, and activation code.

• Download the software, unzip, and extract the files to your hard-drive. Double-click on Setup.exe. • Follow the Installation Wizard. Once the program has been successfully installed, enter the activation code, and log on to Qwizdom Online with the username and password.

Purchased CD: For Microsoft Outlook® Users:

• If you are using Microsoft Outlook, place @qwizdom.com in your Safe Senders List to register. • Open Microsoft Outlook. Go to the Tools menu and select Options. Under the Preferences tab, click on Junk E-mail and select the Safe Senders tab. Click on Add and type in @qwizdom.com. Click OK and exit the Options window.

• Click on the Qwizdom Connect icon on the desktop. Qwizdom Connect will open. • Under the Online tab, click on New User. • This will bring you to the Online Registration form. • Fill out the required fields and click on Submit. • You will receive an email with your username and password. • Log on to Qwizdom Online with your username and password. For Other Email Providers:

• Check to see if there is a Safe Senders List and add @qwizdom.com. If not, after you register, check your Junk or Spam folder for emails sent by Qwizdom.

• Click on the Qwizdom Connect icon on the desktop. Qwizdom Connect will open. • Under the Online tab, click on New User. • This will bring you to the Online Registration form. Fill out the required fields and click on Submit. • You will receive an email with your username and password. • Log on to Qwizdom Online with your username and password. 6

IV INSTALLING USB DRIVERS (RF Host) If you are using the USB Host, skip to the next section, Setting Up Your Remotes (page 12). No drivers need to be installed.

RF Host

• Before installing drivers, close all Microsoft® Office and/or Qwizdom programs. • With the Qwizdom software disk in the CD-Rom drive, connect the host to your USB port.

• A window will appear indicating that the drivers have been successfully installed. If this does not happen, follow the steps below to manually install RF Host drivers.

• From the Start menu, go to the Control Panel, or go to Settings and then Control Panel.

• Double-click on the System icon.

• Click on the Hardware tab. • Click on Device Manager. The Device Manager window appears.

• Select View Devices by Type under the View menu. • Double-click on the RF Host found under one of the following: Ports, Universal Serial Bus Controllers, Unknown, or Other Devices.

• Select the Driver tab and click on Update Driver. 8

• The Found New Hardware Wizard appears. • Select Install from a list or specific location. • Click on Next.

• Select Search for the best driver in these locations. • Check Include this location in search. • Click on Browse and the Browse for Folder window appears. • Click on My Computer and select the USB Drivers folder located on the Qwizdom software CD.

• Click on OK and then click on Next. • A prompt will appear that says the drivers have not passed the Microsoft Windows Update testing - click on Continue Anyway.

• Click on Finish.

The Found New Hardware Wizard should appear for a second time. This is because there are two drivers for the RF Host. Follow prompts to install the second USB driver.

The RF Host is now installed, and the green light on the front should be lit.

• From the Start menu, go to the Control Panel, or go to Settings and then Control Panel and double-click the System icon.

• Click on Device Manager.

• Double-click on the RF Host found under one of the following: Ports, Universal Serial Bus Controllers, Unknown, or Other Devices.

• Select Browse my computer for software driver. • Click on Next.

• Click on Browse and the Browse for Folder window appears.

• Click on My Computer, then select the USB Drivers folder located on the Qwizdom software CD.

• Click on OK and then on Next.

• When installation is complete, click on Close. • Repeat steps 1- 4 to install second driver, and then restart your computer. The RF Host is now installed, and the green light on the front should be lit.

V SETTING UP YOUR REMOTES 1

For Qwizdom Connect:

• Click on the Remotes menu at the top

of the main Qwizdom Connect window.

For Actionpoint Suite:

• Click on the Remotes icon in the Actionpoint toolbar.

The Configuration Settings window will appear:

• Select the remote type. • Enter the highest estimated amount of remotes into the Estimated Maximum Number of Remotes field.

• Select remote configuration type, either Fixed Set or Roaming Set/Participant Owned.

Fixed Set - Select this mode if you are K-12 or corporate setting. Fixed Set is where the remotes are assigned with an internal number. Roaming Set or Participant Owned - Check this option if the participants own the remotes. This mode is best-suited for Higher Ed/ University settings. In this mode, logging in by ID is mandatory.

ASSIGNING FIXED NUMBERS This procedure only needs to be done once, unless you change computers or hosts.

• Select Fixed Set. • Click on Assign. The Remote

Assignment window will appear.

• Click on the Host drop-down menu and select

the COM number (of the host) you will be using.

What is a Session ID? The Session ID is the host’s unique ID. Entering the Session ID into the remotes lets them know with which host to communicate.

• The Session ID automatically appears in the Session ID field.

• Click on Start.

• Use the key pad to enter

the Session ID - Session IDs that are longer than 3 digits will scroll .

• Press JOIN

when finished.

When the remote connects to the host, an image of a remote with the remote’s ID will appear in the Remote Assignment window. The remote ID will appear on the remote’s screen. After all remotes have connected to the host, click on Stop. Click on OK to exit the Remote Assignment window. To exit and save remote settings, click on OK in the Configuration Settings window. 14

The remote ID will appear on the remote’s LCD screen and “Ready” will appear on presenter remote. After all remotes have connected to the host, click on Stop. Click on OK to exit the Remote Assignment window. To exit and save remote settings, click on OK in the Configuration Settings window. 16

When the presenter tablet connects to the host, a tablet with the Instructor label will appear in the Remote Assignment window. “Ready” will appear on the presenter tablet’s LCD screen. After all remotes have connected to the host, click on Stop. Click on OK to exit the Remote Assignment window. To exit and save remote settings, click on OK in the Configuration Settings window. 17

Remote cannot find host and will power down. Remote is searching for the host. Battery icon indicates that the remote is on.

Note: Displays vary depending on remote type.

• Qwizdom: Displays when slides are non-question types, such as lessons or information. • Ready: Displays on the instructor remote or presenter tablet when it is ready to use. • Last Key: Will appear on the instructor’s remote showing the last key that was pressed. • Activity ID: Displays when the remote is requesting an Answer Key activity number. Prompt only appears when

multiple test versions are being presented. Activity numbers should be noted on the test sheets before presenting; numbers cannot be viewed while in presentation mode.

• Loading: An answer key is loading; may take a few moments. • Push Key: Remote is idle. Press any key, (except MENU) to reactivate. • Inactive: Remote senses the host is not in use or does not recognize the session. If remote remains inactive after

starting a presentation, reenter Session ID by pressing MENU, scrolling right to “Sess.ID,” and pressing SEND. When prompted, reenter the Session ID and press SEND.

• No Net: Remote cannot find the host. Reenter the Session ID. If “No Net” continues, enter User ID and Session ID. • Host Not Found: The presenter tablet cannot find the host. Reenter the Session ID. • Denied: User denied due to incorrect Session ID, User ID, or a duplicate User ID. 18 Qwizdom

VI GETTING STARTED Now that your USB drivers and software have been installed, here is a brief overview of Qwizdom Connect and Actionpoint Suite. A more extensive guide is available in the Help menu or at www.qwizdom.com under Support.

Qwizdom Connect: • Qwizdom Online Tab: Preview, rate, and download activities and multimedia files. • Content Tab: Create, import, and export activities and answer keys; view and apply standards to activities; organize content; present activities; and upload activities into Qwizdom Online.

• Participants Tab: Create and import participant lists, create groups, and take attendance. • Results Tab: View and export recorded data. Grade and regrade activities with the Quick Mark tool. • Programs Menu: Launch Qwizdom Actionpoint, Answer Key, Live Editor, and Question Toolbar;

create slides with images and multimedia in Live Editor; use Answer Key to generate paper-based activities with and without standards; conduct spontaneous presentations with the Question Toolbar.
