# 2.1.5 Legacy Compatibility Update As a thank you to customers who purchased iA Writer Classic we are issuing this final compatibility update over a year after removing it from sale on the App Store. For continued updates and support for the future Apple ecosystem we suggest upgrading to the new iA Writer. # The New iA Writer We're excited to have launched iA Writer 3 this past year. The response has been amazing as it preserves our renowned plain text approach while producing documents formatted in stunning typography. Learn more at http://ia.net/writer. ## Migrate Your Documents After purchasing the new iA Writer your documents from iA Writer Classic will not appear immediately. As iA Writer 3 is a separate application from iA Writer Classic it creates a new folder in iCloud Drive for your documents. The Classic folder has "writer|" as the icon, whereas iA Writer 3 uses the "iA|" logo. Moving your documents to the new iA Writer only takes a moment and you can do it on either iOS or Mac. ### On iOS: 1. Install the new iA Writer, and keep iA Writer Classic installed 2. Tap "iA Writer" at the top of the document list in iA Writer Classic 3. Tap "Export to the New iA Writer" at the bottom left 4. Your documents will be imported into iA Writer 3, whereupon you may delete the Classic app ### On Mac: Drag and drop documents from the iA Writer Classic folder to the iA Writer 3 folder in iCloud using Finder. ## Questions? -
