General Notes on accommodation In a myopic eye (farther objects can’t be seen clearly), when the eye lens is relaxed, the focus is anterior to retina (see figure). So, if the object that has to be viewed is brought closer, it acts as a negative divergence (i.e., instead of parallel rays, diverging rays will be reaching the lens—see fig2).
In the hyperopic eye, more accommodation is required to focus it on the retina.
IN the relaxed eye, the iris is relaxed, eye lens is long, in accommodating eye, the iris has tension so eye lens is bulged.
