The objective of this study was to investigate the representation of the Polineuropatia Familiar Amiloidotica and its implications in the levels of anxiety and the type of used strategies of coping in specific situations of the incapacitante crónica illness as the diagnosis and the transplant, but also with events (the death of familiar with the illness) or the simple interaccion with the people or another type of event not referenciado. The sample in our study is constituted by 37 citizens all carrying they of Polineuropatia Familiar Amiloidotica, 18 of them are woman and 19 they are man, respectively 48.6% and 51.4%, all live in urban centers and only 3 (8.1%) meet to work thus demonstrating it the degree of incapacity of the illness. The age swing betwen the 29 and 66, the average age are 44 years. In relaction of the schoolarity, 23 (62,2%) have the first degree, 11 (29,7%) the second degree and 3 (8,1%) are graduate or abave. The used instruments had been the STAY form Y, the IPQ-R and the WCQ. The preliminary results point statistical with respect to significant correlations between the three variable and differences of averages in the strategies of coping for factor levels we will pass then the referiz them. Correlations correlated between the anxiety-state/trace and the strategies of coping, nominated between “Anxiety-State” and “C had met strong. Escape - P.A.” (Rho= 0,628 to the level of 0,01) and “Anxiety-Trace” and “C. Escape - P.R.” (Rho= 0,616 to the level of 0,01). The correlations betwen strategies of coping and representation of the illness are dispares, some are modests like the case of “C. Confrontivo – P.A.” e a “Representation of the illness /Controle Cure – Personal” (Rho= 0,328 to the level of 0,05), and anothers are strong correlacted for exemple, betwen “C. Auto-Controle - P.A.” e ““Representation of the illness/ Timeline (cyclical)” (Rho= -0,643 to the level of 0,01). Through the application of Anova I it was evidenced that differences of averages in the groups divided for the Type of Event exist, such differences are reflectem in four of the eight scales of coping, of Auto-control with a variability of 5,147 and a significance of, 001, of Search of Social Support with a variability of 4,438 and a significance of, 044, the Gliding Resolution of the Problem with a 3,617 variability of and a significance of, 011 and finally the scale of Positive Reevaluation with a 3,886 variability of and a significance of 0,08.
Word-key: Representation of the illness, strategies of coping, Situations of confrontation and Levels of Anxiety.
