Girls Club Founding Members is a representational drawing, stylized to fit the technique of the artist, and to help convey the deeper meaning behind each work of art. Artist Julie Armbruster works with dynamic features such as the interactive movement of the characters develop the sense of an alternate reality within the limits of the piece. Using a medium acrylic and ink on canson art board, the artist is able to captivate the essence of the story she is conveying. Julie Armbruster expresses a distinct spiritual message throughout the exhibit, individualized to the spirituality and knowledge of the viewer. The use of negative space by Julie Armbruster within the paintings is stark and bare, allowing the focal point to become nothing but the character and the surrounding interactive accessories in the center of the piece. Each character within her work of art is individualized to the extent that it becomes more than a simple drawing. Girls Club, the exhibit created by Julie Armbruster is a story, and each work within the exhibit extends the narrative and illustrates a new addition to the story. Julie Armbruster is seeking to invoke a sense of companionship and familiarity within the viewer by blurring the lines between art and reality, presenting a glance into the unique narratives of each character in every piece.
