The building being reviewed is The Georgetown Library building, which was constructed in 1934. The building is a two-story structure with a partial basement. The original building is a mixture of bearing walls with steel and concrete frames. The exterior cladding is brick. A temporary timber truss roof was erected to protect the Library from the elements. The project will be a Level 3 Alteration.

Exit Lighting 1. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied.

Guards 1. Shall be provided along open-sided walking surfaces, mezzanines, industrial equipment platforms, stairways, ramps and landings which are located more than 30 inches above the floor or grade below. Shall also be located along glazed sides of stairways, ramps and landings that are located more than 30 inches above floor or grade below where glazing provided does not meet the strength and attachment requirements of 1607.7.

Assembly Occupancy Requirements 1. When occupant load is greater than 300, shall be provided with a main exit. Main exit shall be sufficiently wide enough to accommodate not less than one-half the total occupant, but shall not be less than the total required width of means of egress leading to the exit.
