Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 64th Birthday Merit Ceremony
64 Hour Around-the-clock Prayer It is our pleasure to request of your support and presence to Burma’s national leader and 1991 Nobel Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 64th birthday merit ceremony to be held as scheduled below. During the ceremony, Burmese monks will chant Buddhist treatise on the 24 causes of worldly phenomena for 64 hours consecutively. Program Location 1: Win Shwe Wah Hall, 4145, 73rd Street, Woodside, NY 11377 1) June 16, Tuesday, 5:00-6:00 PM – Shwe Mégan Venerable U Kaw-ma-la will teach the learning process of Buddhist treatise. 2) June 16, Tuesday, 6:00 PM – June 19, Friday, 10:00 AM – 64 hours consecutive reading and chanting of Buddhist treatise. 3) June 19, Friday, 10:30 AM – Offer food to monks and sharing merits. Location 2: Across from the United Nations (Detail location will be updated.) 4) June 19, Friday, 1:30 – 3:00 PM – Pray across from the United Nations You are invited to come and meditate or be a part of the merit ceremony, as we pray to free Burma and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on her 64th birthday!!
