The Five Kingdoms
Animal Bacteria Fungi Plant Protist By:
The Animal Kingdom ❂ ❂
❂
❂ ❂
Move From Place To Place. Don’t make Their Own Food. Some eat meat, plants or both. Digest food. Examples are Humans, dogs, and cats.
Why an Animal ? ❂
It belongs in the Animal Kingdom Because in the Animal Kingdom it would be classified as a fish.
The Bacteria Kingdom (Monerans) ❂
Most Bacteria do not have a nucleus
❂
Most don’t make their own food. They don’t move. Examples are illnesses and cheeses
❂ ❂
Why Bacteria? ❂
It belongs in the Bacteria Kingdom because the Chamydomonas doesn’t make it’s own food like a plant, it doesn’t move like an animal, but bacteria does both of these .
The Fungi Kingdom ❂ ❂ ❂
❂ ❂ ❂
Fungi Can’t move. Can be anywhere. Don’t contain chloroplast. Have many cells. Examples are mold or| and mildew.
Why Fungi? ❂
It belongs in the fungi Kingdom because it recycles dead things.
The Plant Kingdom ❂
❂
❂ ❂ ❂
Plants are food for animals. They contain chloroplast. Make own food. Can’t move. Examples are flowers, trees, bushes.
Why Plants? ❂
❂
This belongs in this Kingdom because it reproduces from spores and makes it’s own food. It doesn’t move
The Protist Kingdom ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂
❂
They are like Fungus, animals, and plants. Some contain Chloroplasts. Some make own food. Little “creatures” floating in a drop of pond water. Single celled.
Why Protist? ❂
It has a nucleus. It’s animal-like, and protists are animallike, too.
Classifying is important. ❂
It’s important to classify living things because if you didn’t know, you wouldn’t know anything about them and what they’re like.
Extras ❂
We found out that to live , all animals, plants, fungus, bacteria, and protists must and have to work together.
