YMS Technical Visit Ngau Tam Mei Water Treatment Works 24th Sept, 2005 Technical visit to Ngau Tam Mei Water Treatment Works has been successfully organized with more than 30 members participants joined. The visit was consisted of two different parts. First, there was a video explaining the role and the background information of the the Ngau Tam Mei Water Treatment Work, and then compared it with the water plants in Hong Kong. This gave a very general knowledge to the participant about the treatment plant in Hong Kong. Second, there was a 3-hour technical visit in the plant area. Three experienced officers from WSD leaded the visit for us. Members studied the treatment process and its mechanism, included the dual-stage biological filtration, VPSA Oxygen Generators, Membrane Filter Press and Flocculation. Participants enjoyed the visit very much and actively asked questions which were answered satisfactorily by the officers.
