CAFOD SPECIAL APPEAL

Cafod have launched a special appeal for £I million to help alleviate the dire situation in the Congo. If you are able to help, please put something extra into the CAFOD envelopes over the next few weeks!

The ‘Jesse Tree’ is so- named from Isaiah 11:1 ‘A shoot will spring forth from the stump of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots.’ It is a visual representation connecting the Advent Season with the faithfulness of God throughout history — our ‘Salvation History’. The tradition uses a simple ‘tree’ or twig as the symbol of Christ the Messiah, who fully reveals the grace and faithfulness of God. Helping young people to understand more about the fulfilment of the Messianic prophecies, and our preparation and anticipation for the second Advent and completion of God’s promise, enables them to prepare to celebrate the wonder of Christmas in a way that is both meaningful and filled with joy.
