Find the smallest number which when successively divided by 7 & 13 leaves remainder 3 & 5 respectively? • Start from last : 13 *1 + 5 = 18. • Now go to 7: 18 * 7 + 3 = 129. • When we divide 129 by 7, we get remainder 3 and quotient 18, in 18 we have to divide by 13 and we get remainder 5. thus answer is 129. www.afterschoool.tk

A walks around a circular field @ one round per hour. B runs @ 6 rounds per hour. They start at 7.30 am in same direction. When will they again meet? • While A goes, B will follow him soon. B will be in the place where they started in 10 minutes only. But A has walked some distance. • Answer 10 + speed to cover A’s distance. • 10+2 = 12 minutes. • To solve, assume that distance is 60 km, A’s speed is 60 and B’s speed is 360 and after 10 minutes, B has to cover 10/ (360-60) * 60 = 2 minutes (answer). www.afterschoool.tk
